31 Weeks

I think the next couple of weeks are going to be hard, but incredible for me at the same time.  I was 31 weeks and 3 days pregnant when I went into labor for the first time with Avery.  We don't know if I went into labor because she was sick or because my body had had enough with being pregnant.  I do remember that my body started to get puffy the weekend before that... and this morning I woke up to puffy fingers and pants that were much tighter on my thighs than they were last week.  (Last time, I had to wear Skeet's pants because I couldn't fit in any of my maternity clothes... not even the baggy ones and it was all because of swelling).  I have faith that everything is going to be okay with Sawyer but I can't help but think back to my last 31 week experience.  I don't have an appointment with Dr. S this week, we are going to try going two weeks and see how it goes.  I will however, be listening to my body very closely and taking every precaution.  If I end up in labor and delivery over a stupid pain, I wouldn't be surprised.  I really want Sawyer to stay put until at least 37 weeks.  The further we get into this pregnancy the higher that number gets!  I am ready to meet him, definitely, but I am not ready to not be pregnant anymore... I also want him to be as healthy as possible when he does come, so no preemie baby for us!!  We are all ready though, in case he comes early.  His nursery is put together, his clothes and blankets are washed, we have huge stockpiles of diapers and wipes and although we haven't done our childbirth classes yet, I think we could handle it without them.  But he still needs to wait... I am still nesting and there is still a lot of my house that isn't clean enough, according to me, so I have a lot I still want to do.  Plus, we can't deliver in Cedar until 34 weeks and I REFUSE to deliver anywhere else!! At my last appointment with Dr. S I was dilated to just about 1 cm.  Nothing to freak out about and Dr. S wasn't too concerned so I hope it doesn't progress.
 Anyway... here is my update...

How far along: 31 Weeks!

Size of baby: As far as growth goes, your baby's still on a roll, measuring an impressive 18 inches and weighing in at more than three pounds. At 31 weeks pregnant, you can still expect your baby to gain at least three to five pounds, possibly more, before you two meet.

Weight gain: 20 pounds.

Maternity clothes: Mostly. I can still get away with a few of my regular shirts but my belly is starting to hang out of the bottom now!!

Gender: BOY!!

Movement: I LOVE to watch my stomach move!  It is the most amazing feeling and something I never got to see when pregnant with Avery.  I get sad when he is not moving because I love feeling it so much.  I am sure when he comes I will be thankful for those quiet periods but right now I am just enjoying every second!

Sleep: Sleep is definitely more difficult, but it's not from a lack of trying. I am tired enough to sleep 10-12 hours a night but am lucky to get in 5 or 6. Guess I had better get used to it!

Symptoms: Back pain, feet and hands swelling, heartburn, headaches, braxton hicks, occasional cramping, gas, constipation, itchy skin... the list goes on and on but to be honest... I LOVE IT!!

Cravings: Hmm... this week I really want mexican food.  I haven't gotten it yet because I want the good stuff and Skeet has been sick.  I hope he gets better soon cause I really want some yummy food!

Best moment this week: Nothing much has happened this week but I guess I could put that Dr. S and I agreed to take a 2 week break from each other and see how it goes.  After seeing him every week for the last couple of months, I am afraid that the withdrawls might kick in around Friday.  I am just hoping the next week and a half are uneventful and when I see him next week everything looks good!

What I am looking forward to: Skeet feeling better, for one.  I hope to spend as much time with my sister and my nephew as I can too.  They will be leaving before I know it and I always regret not spending more time with them while they are here.  I have felt awful that I haven't been able to play with him like I normally do so I need to come up with some ideas of fun things he and I can do together that don't require a lot of running around!
Also, now that the furniture is where I want it in the nursery, my sis is going to come and help me finish decorating! I can't wait for it to be done so I can post pictures!  My little monkey is so spoiled!
