Last week he weighed 13 pounds 3 ounces so I am sure he is a few ounces more than that by now. He seems to get taller every day though. I am guessing he is over 25 inches now but we haven't measured him. He is in size 2 diapers and wearing mostly 3-6 month clothing although because of his height we do have him in 6-9 month pajamas. His smiles are still adorable and coming more often but he still makes you work for them. They are worth it though. On my days off I spend most of his awake time making funny noises and faces to get him to smile and giggle at me. He loves to have his feet kissed, especially when mom tells him how yummy they are! I have a hard time getting his smiles on camera because as soon as I pull out my phone or the camera, he suddenly becomes very shy and wants to just stare at them instead!
My mom told me a couple of months ago that at 3 months a baby's habits change and they get easier. Sawyer has never really been difficult but he has been waking up 2 or 3 times a night to eat. Well last night he only woke up once. Maybe my mom was right? I guess we'll see tonight! I know he's still a growing boy so I am not worried that he wants to eat in the middle of the night but I am wondering if 2-3 times is 1-2 times too many. He won't take a binkie though and won't go back to sleep unless he eats so who am I to deny him food? :) I hate to admit that even though I am tired, I love the good cuddles I get at night and most nights I don't mind his little cries calling me into his room! Speaking of his room... he has been sleeping in his own bed for quite a while now and sleeps there most of the night. If he does get up within the hour or so before I have to get up for work, I like to bring him to bed with me to cuddle a little bit more before I turn him over to his sitter. I love having him in bed with me, I don't sleep much when he's there, but his face is so sweet and he sleeps so much better when he's cuddled up to mommy! I don't want to get him in the habit of it, that's why I only allow him to do it for an hour or so in the morning.
Sawyer still hates tummy time but is getting so strong. He can sit up pretty well in his Bumbo Chair and loves to sit on pretty much anyone's lap, as long as he can look around and see what it going on. He's great at holding his head up. He has discovered that his hands taste really good and is now trying to master thumb sucking. He can get it in there but keeping it in is a little more difficult. With the hand sucking has come and increase in saliva productions. Yep, my baby boy is a slobber monster! If you put a rattle or toy in his hand he will hold it but isn't really sure what to do with it just yet!
His favorite place in the house is his changing table. If he is without clothing or a diaper it's even better! This is the place we get the most smiles. He'll even tell us stories. He still adores his daddy and saves his best smiles just for Skeet!
One last story I have to add for this 3 month update. Yesterday I was holding the cutest little guy ever, he was sitting on my stomach, leaning back against my knees. We were just playing and talking when he pooped! I praised him for a good one and went back to trying to get some smiles. After a few minutes I decided it was time to change him so I stood up and that is when I looked down and saw poop all over the front of my shirt. I exclaimed to Skeet how I had officially been pooped on and he pointed out that I also had poop all over my back. Then we found it on the blanket and pillow that were on the chair I was sitting on. We have decided it was the poop of all poops! The little guy must be cute cause I didn't even get upset or grossed out! My cute little pooper...
